What Error 460 Means

Error 460 signals an internal error detected within the display or HMI unit. The display runs its own firmware and contains its own processor, memory, and backup battery. Error 460 covers internal failures in any of these components, including firmware crash states, memory corruption, or depleted backup battery causing configuration loss.

Fix Procedure

Step 1: Power Cycle

Remove the main traction battery for 60 seconds and reinstall. Display firmware crash states typically clear after a full power cycle.

Step 2: Clean the Display Connector Contacts

On Intuvia displays, clean the electrical contacts on the underside of the display housing with isopropyl alcohol. Corrosion on these contacts can cause intermittent power supply to the display processor.

Step 3: Check Display Firmware

On Smart System displays, the eBike Flow app shows if a display firmware update is available. An outdated display firmware version can produce persistent error 460 due to protocol incompatibilities introduced by motor firmware updates.

Step 4: Replace the Display

If error 460 persists after all the above steps, the display internal PCB or firmware storage has failed and display replacement is required.
